Environmental permitting & review
Know which permits apply before the schedule depends on them.
NYSDEC and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permitting coordination, SEQR and NEPA environmental reviews, desktop constraint screening for property transactions, and review of third-party reports.
Discuss a permit questionServices in this area
- 01NYSDEC permitting
Article 24 freshwater wetlands, Article 15 protection of waters, and SPDES permits.
- 02U.S. Army Corps of Engineers coordination
Section 404 permits and Section 401 water quality certifications.
- 03Wetland and stream impact permitting
Permit strategy, applications, and agency coordination. Delineation is performed by a qualified delineator.
- 04SEQR and NEPA environmental reviews
Environmental assessment forms, SEQR documentation, and NEPA reviews for projects that trigger them.
- 05Desktop environmental reviews and constraint screening
Wetlands, floodplains, soils, water, and regulatory constraints on a parcel before a purchase or a design commitment.
- 06Review of third-party reports
Geotechnical, hydrology, and environmental reports read for design constraints, construction risk, and cost drivers.
How it runs
Permitting starts with a screening: which resources are on or near the site, which agencies have jurisdiction, and which permits the proposed work will trigger. We put that in writing so the schedule and the budget reflect it. Where a permit is needed we prepare the application, coordinate the specialists the agency expects to see, and handle the correspondence until a decision issues. For SEQR we prepare the environmental assessment form and supporting documentation for the lead agency. For a transaction we deliver a constraint screen that separates what is confirmed from what still needs field verification, so a buyer knows what the purchase depends on.
Questions people ask
01Do you delineate wetlands?+
No. A qualified wetland delineator flags the boundary and prepares the delineation report. We scope that work, coordinate it, and use it in the permit strategy and the design.
02Can you tell me if my parcel needs a permit?+
A desktop screen tells you which resources and jurisdictions are likely present and which permits the proposed work would trigger. Confirmation comes from a field delineation and the agency.
03How long does a permit take?+
That depends on the agency, the permit, and the completeness of the application. We do not quote agency timelines. We can tell you what makes an application complete, which is the part we control.

Start with the location and the problem. The first conversation is free, and the scope, fees, and timing are agreed before any work begins. Field work is in Saratoga, Warren, and Washington counties, with nearby areas by arrangement.
